Lots of New Stuff Happening

It's the end of the year. Christmas is over and no more left over turkey in the fridge. It has been the biggest year yet for us with the photography business and we are excited to see what this next year will bring. We recently came up with a new logo and with that created several new marketing pieces. We have stepped it up with our packaging and presentation of our products as well. I am pretty excited about some of the new things that we will be doing with the products we deliver. We will also be at Bridalrama in February. This will be our first wedding show and we are pretty pumped about it. Up to now we have not done much in the marketing field other than word of mouth so this should be a good learning experience for us. And the last big thing is that we will have our own studio space!!! There is a great building on the corner of Pike and Russell in Covington that a friend of mine owns. We will have an office in the building and there is a sweet space on the third floor which is all open, exposed bricks, large windows and wood floors. It is huge and will make some great portraits. I should have some pics up by mid to late January of the studio. That is it for today, I will try to keep this blog up to date and start posting some technical blogs here soon. Have a Great New Year!!

More to Come

It has been awhile since the last post. I apologize for that. Things have been busy for us this year. Finally getting a little breath in. We just finished up a fantastic wedding for some friends. I really enjoy photographing weddings, especially people we know and have a relationship with. We are with them the whole day, more than the maid of honor or best man. More than their parents or any friend. We are there when they get stressed out, when they cry, when they laugh, and when they make one of the most important decisions of their lives. I know for some fellow photographers, a wedding is a way to make a living, but it is so much more. It is not making a living, it is capturing life at one of the highest points in some one's life.

I will be posting some pics from Charlie and Whitney's wedding in the next day or so and we have a bunch of senior photos to take at the beginning of the new year, so be on the look out for some posts.

Caleb's Senior Photos

This past week end we took Caleb's Senior Portraits. They look awesome! We took these down in Winchester KY (Ale 8 country). Some really cool locations including Ft. Boonesboro, downtown Winchster, some random barn and train tracks. Guitar is something that is really special to caleb and we feature that in a lot of different looks.

Technical things (if you care). We used our Nikon D300, 24-70 2.8 Nikon lens, SB-600 though an umbrella, SB-900 as master and kicker light on a few images.

Getting Started

Hello, if you are visiting this blog today, this is my first attempt at a "photography blog". I want to show off some recent work and talk about the different photography sessions that my wife and I take. I also want to share tricks and gear info for those that take photos. I know a lot of people are getting into the DSLR way of doing things, but there are some really useful and needed things that people need to remember and use. I hope it will be helpful and enjoyable for all those that make it here.
